PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE
Thread Group is excited to kick off the celebration of our 10th anniversary this month! Beyond our diligent efforts in advancing specifications, marketing initiatives, and certifications, we took a moment to reflect on Thread's journey over the past decade. A special video capturing our key moments and achievements is available here, showcasing our collective progress. I extend my heartfelt appreciation to all member companies for their steadfast dedication to Thread, especially those who have been with us since the beginning.
Throughout the past few months, Thread Group members have put in hard work to collaborate on identifying the next opportunities for improving Thread's capabilities for enabling IoT products and services, which all began with the marketing analysis and study that Google conducted to identify gaps in the understanding of Thread. For the remainder of the year, Thread is focusing on Border Router education in the consumer space and enhancing the ability to search for Thread certified products on all leading websites. Commercial companies and standards organizations such as Lutron, DALI Alliance, and others are also conducting helpful studies for scaling Thread networks to thousands of accessories. This makes it evident that Thread is beyond the initial introduction of products and is now on its way to becoming a key technology and enabler for IoT products.
Our steady progress with Matter, KNX IoT, and DALI+ across diverse market segments has been substantial. We now have over 300 certified Thread products and components, supported by a growing membership of more than 185 companies spanning North America, Europe, and Asia.
Our next Members Meeting will be held in Porto, Portugal from Oct 22-24, 2024. Onward and upwards into the next decade for Thread Group.

THREAD GROUP ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP TIER LAUNCHThread Group has announced its new membership tier, the Associate membership tier. This tier was established to promote innovation and interoperability within the IoT and is designed for companies that exclusively rebrand Thread-certified end products developed and manufactured by Thread Group Sponsor or Contributor members. INNOVATION ENABLER AWARD ENTRYThread Group's Innovation Enabler Award Program recognizes IoT start-ups and provides innovative companies with the opportunity to join the Thread Group and play a role in defining the connected home through access to Thread technology. The program provides up to two promising companies with a complimentary two-year Thread Group membership* to enable them to build new products using Thread. Winners are selected twice a year; submissions are accepted from January through June and July through December with awards granted in July and January. Interested companies can learn more about the program and complete the application here. *First year, complimentary membership at the Contributor level, and Second year, the winner may either elect to pay reduced dues and continue at the Contributor level or elect to participate at the Implementer level free of charge. |
